In 2009/10 GK Icon opened our first school in Watford, the attendance and feedback has been fantastic. Having formed close ties with Watford FC we were able to offer trials to several lads, one of whom has gone on to sign a contract with the Championship outfit. At GK Icon we wish Zak all the best in his development and have no doubt he will be the first of many to graduate through our scheme.

Nathan has just been signed by Newcastle United Academy. He has attend the the Gateshead GK Icon sessions and say he loves them because “the coaches are really nice and helpful” Nathan got into goalkeeping at the age of 9 when the goalkeeper of his local team left. Newcastle United signed Nathan after a game against their academy where Nathan saved a penalty he says “GK Icon really helped my game” Everyone at GK Icon is really proud of Nathan and we wish all the best at Newcastle.

A big congratulations of GK Icon member Andre Waldron who has just secured a
place in Luton FC's Academy.
Andre who is 11 years old and attends Berrygrove school has been attending
GK Icon since last year and has found the courses have really helped improve
his game. His proud mum Kelly said "Andre has come such a long way since
starting at GK Icon. When he started off he stood in goal watching the
balls go past him and now he has been chosen from many boys to go the Luton
FC centre of excellence" When we asked Andre what his favourite part of GK
Icon was he said "It is a well good course, it is great to be able to train
with a professional keeper" Andre who says his favourite goalkeeper is
"Richard Lee" is due to start training with Luton next term and is also
lined up to go on a tour of Sweden and visit the Real Madrid stadium.
Everyone at GK Icon is very proud of Andres achievements and we wish him all
the best with his training at Luton.

A big congratulations of GK Icon member Teddy Unwin-Marris who has just secured a place in Rotherham United FC's Development Centre.
Teddy attended the GK Icon centre in Sheffield of his time with GK Icon Teddy said "The training I received made me a more confident keeper, knowing my angles and 1 on 1's has enabled me to keep 11 clean sheets and saved 4 penalties out of 4.
I am sure I would not have reached this standard if I had not attended GK Icon.
Everyone at GK Icon is very proud of Teddy's achievements and we wish him all
the best with his training at Rotherham.
